At Mechanical Metal Finishing, we offer passivation services which reduces the chemical reactivity of a metal part. The basic definition of passivation is that it is a method of improving the corrosion resistance of stainless steel parts by removing contaminants like free iron from their surface, which then works to restore them to their original corrosion specifications.

Meeting AeroSpace and commercial standards, this is a bulk processing chemical treatment to make stainless steel passive to oxidation (rust). We carry out this process by removing free iron from the surface of the materials we work with. We are proud to be able to offer many types and spec numbers for this passivation process, as well as testing.

We are proud to work with both individuals and small and large businesses who need metal parts deburred and finished. The main processes offered are deburring metal, but we also work with plastic, 3-D printed parts, and chemical processing on steel parts. We are NADCAP-certified in chemical processing and aerospace quality systems.

If you happen to have any questions regarding getting a better understanding of the passivation process, what it entails, the benefits of passivation, why you might need it for your business, our prices, or the other services we offer here at Metal Mechanical Finishing, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We look forward to speaking with you because our goal is always to be able to educate our customers on the importance of the processes of products we make so that they can understand the quality that goes into every piece.
